@christofincognito4530 you must be one of those "why is the gun so loud? " types. Which 240B, MG3 can shoot through a brick or cinderblock wall, shoot through and disintegrate a vehicle in motion or have its round not significantly be deflected by foliage? It's the equivalent of a V8 powered muscle car. Out of date and inefficient in its current design but unmatched in its (kinetic) performance (level of destruction) is Unmatched. If anything, make the gun kighter and less complex but keep the caliber and its ridiculous power.

Having served in the Bundeswehr of the 90s from conscript to NCO I often asked that question but, as was the norm for closed-minded Officers and NCOs of that date, the MG3 was deemed enough and. 50cal was inhumane to be used against personellen. Obviously the Austrian Bundesheer wasn't as closed minded and adopted it far before my idot organization.

@UsoundsGermany I loved my G3 but it was overrated... Too heavy for the basic foots logger. I will out shoot any moron in a realistic battle scenario away from the static range who says the G3 is better with my Ar15. If the 60s BW had. 50 cal on ships is irrelevant. You need it in top of tanks and TPZ in an anti personell and materiel role.... Where the MG3 in 308 is severely underrated. Just as the BW of The 80s and 90s was. The idiots in Beschaffungsamt believed 7.62 was enough. 147 grain ball ammo is good... But it won't go through a good sized tree as my Ausbilder tried to sell me. The BW of the cold war was wholly under equipped and trained and was fueled on German arrogance and belief in their untested leopards and tornados..... We have to look at türkisch leopards and British attack tornadoes for any somewhat analog proof.
