There's studies on how early childhood brain development affects the type of you'll work to resolve the issues you feel are in your life. More liberal people think about problems and try to find solutions using logic and science, whereas more conservative minded people tend to feel more fearful of their problems, and seek solutions based out of fear. Definitely been some studies on this type of mental reasoning. Give a quick search, you'll find some.

I would take it even a step further and suggest the difference between a conservative and a liberal is that a liberal is able to think for themselves and make their own judgments without being told, a conservative has to be guided in a firection first and always looks for reinforcement whether it be fear or hatred.
