Also civil suits are different than criminal charges just so you know, and I'm sure if someone murdered your teenage son and they gave them a murder charge pretty sure you would still file civil suit against them. Not everything fits into category a or category B there's varying shades of grey here but the case you used as an example is a terrible one for what you're trying to get across.
