Oil… Oil was discovered in the Donbas in the early 2010’s leading American oil companies to purchase billions of dollars of drilling rights in 2013. All the former Soviet bloc countries surrounding the lower Black Sea and the Donbas combined have more oil and nat gas than Saudi Arabia. Right now Russia controls the pipelines to Europe if the west can exploit these areas Russia looses its biggest source of income,thus any status as a world power. You need better people in research 🧐

@opinion4755 The west has a great propaganda machine as well and we still have a clash off civilizations. NATO is on Russia’s borders threatening Russia’s very survival as a functioning state. If nato succeeds in closing Russia’s oil and gas markets Russia will be just another failed state,it is a matter of survival for Russia. I believe you are only looking at this from Ian’s and the west’s slanted view laid out for the gullible western masses. America buys influence with world leaders,their citizens are often not in agreement. Look around the last few years and tell me that we are not run by oligarchs,and corrupt criminals just the same? Does our state media not paint a pretty picture of them for the masses as well? Maybe Russia is not ready to give up its sovereignty just yet?
