Well, there was definitely a secondary explosion at the ammo dump. That COULD have been caused by potassium nitrate or munitions, either one. All the sparkles hurled into the air from the 2nd explosion DOES look more like munitions than fertilizer, though. Fertilizer should produce more of a smoky, gaseous cloud. One thing's for certain, though. Saw a HIMAR in action on the front lines some days ago, thought THEN that Russia's not fielding ANYTHING like THAT. Those things are accurate, mobile, & deadly. Ukraine just needs more of 'em. Looks like there's gonna be a drone showdown over Ukraine, what with Ukrainian, Turkish, Iranian, Russian, & allied-supplied drones whizzing around everywhere. There's a lot of signal-jamming going on in Ukrainian airspace, so things MIGHT get a little crazy up there. Speaking of crazy, hasn't Russia been saying all along that Ukraine is releasing convicts from its prisons & sending them to the battlefield? Um, Putin, ain't that what YOU'RE doing? Let's get more arms to Ukraine so it can knock this mess down, & we can ALL start to recover. SLAVA UKRAINE!

This analyst is right. Everyone's saying, "Oh, we need to do more for Ukraine," while seemingly not realizing that "doing more for Ukraine" is actually going to cost them personally. Fuel & food prices rise, inflation soars to new heights, & durable goods such as automobiles & computers become scarce & costly. Everyone's all for helping, as long as they don't have to actually GIVE UP anything to do it. Every evening our TV, computer screens, & social media show us the horrors happening in Ukraine, & we're shocked & appalled by them - but by God, we'd better not have to give up our caramel lattes to make them stop! No getting around it, though; the world is FAR too interconnected to prevent repercussions of this war from affecting everyone. We either turn our backs, pretend people aren't suffering & dying in their 1000's, or we suck it up, go all in, & bring it to as swift an end as possible. THAT way, the pinch will be over quickly; whereas ignoring the war will just drag its global effects on & on & on, & get worse & worse as time passes. If the war persists, possibly 40-50% of developing nations' populations will be facing starvation by the end of 2022. That's MUCH more than just a "minor inconvenience", & wiil probably result in severe social upheaval & further violent conflicts. No, it's decision time with regard to this war. The question is - how will our children & grandchildren view our decisions in 50 years' time, & will there be many UKRAINIAN citizens left to even CONSIDER the question? Slava Ukraine!

@EMCUEAY Russia took Kherson because it was handed to Russian forces by collaborative Ukrainian traitors. The city was won back by brave Ukrainian military forces, supported by more than 40 other nations militarily, & many more with humanitarian aid, even by Vladimir Putin's good friend, Pres. Xi Jinping of China. In the spring of this year, the Azov Battalion consisted of approx. 500-600 soldiers, & the battalion commander stated that about 10% of his forces had neo-Nazi sentiments. At that time, that would have been 50-60 soldiers. The rest of the battalion had no such leanings. Ukraine's Allies are already working on a Marshall Plan to ensure Ukraine suffers no undue financial or rebuilding hardship, once Ukraine secures all of its territory & the war is over. The only suffering going on right now in Ukraine is being inflicted upon it by its vicious, bullying neighbor, Russia.

The hypocrisy of Russia is phenomenal. Russian long-range missiles have been killing 1000's of Ukrainians for the past 15 mos. Russia claims Ukraine is a terrorist regime, when it's RUSSIAN mercenaries, military personnel, & special operatives who've been spreading the seeds of terrorism all over the globe for decades. Ukraine, a sovereign, independent nation, has every right to protect itself from an aggressor, by whatever means necessary. In war, that usually means carrying the battle to the enemy. As the old saying goes, "The best defense is a good offense.". As far as a negotiated peace between Ukraine & Russia? Well, there've been too many atrocities, too much destruction, too many deaths, for either side to trust the other. Some extraordinary occurrence would have to happen at this point. They hate each other too much. SLAVA UKRAINI!

The Ukrainian forces in Mariupol will not surrender. They know every hr. they fight on, they engage Russian troops & weapons that would otherwise be turned on other cities & towns. They're buying the rest of Ukraine time to strengthen their defenses, & prepare for the battle in the Donbas. This is an "Alamo"-type situation, which they're not really expecting to survive. They're willing to fight as long & as hard as they can, knowing, in the end, their lives will be a sacrifice & an example to their country. This is selfless heroism, & calls to mind the words of our Lord, Jesus Christ, "No greater love hath a man, than he lay down his life for his fellow man.". These soldiers should never be forgotten, for they bring "Glory to Ukraine!"

To reiterate once again - Vladimir Putin cannot be trusted. That little bit of playacting between Shoigu & "Gen. Armageddon" was about as amateurish as a couple of 10-yr.-olds in an elementary school play; a staged show for the Russian citizens. And Putin couldn't even bring himself to take part in the charade. If Russian forces abandon Kherson, it'll be a good thing, but Ukraine must take this "announcement" with a heavy pinch of salt. Chances are, Russia's planning some sort of nasty surprise for Ukrainian forces when they enter Kherson. The Russians mine everything, even dead bodies. They've mined the Nova Kakhovka hydroelectric dam, which if breached, will flood the city. And Russia's chief of national security is visiting Tehran, Iran, likely to facilitate delivery of Iranian ballistic missiles to Russia. And Russia's already evacuated everyone & everything it regards as important from the city (new conscripts aren't important). Beware, Ukraine - there's "something rotten" in Kherson. Hope not, but I wouldn't bet on it. SLAVA UKRAINE!

I agree with the Ukrainian rep at the NATO summit about the war affecting all of Europe. But I'll go him one better. Right now, this spat between neighbors in the middle of Europe is affecting EVERY nation on earth. The most extreme example - south Sudan. That region of the world is in the grip of a years-long drought so severe that even when it DOES rain, the water evaporates almost before it hits the ground. Millions of south Sudanese are being supplied foodstuffs by the World Food Program. They've only been able to supply enough for each person to have one meal a day. A couple of days ago, they made their June deliveries. Those deliveries are the last they will be able to supply for the remainder of 2022. Those millions of people would have to go the next 6 months, unable to grow crops, & with nothing coming in. They're going to starve to death. Meanwhile, Russia sits on 22 million tons of grain in Ukraine, which is beginning to rot. A new harvest is coming in in Ukraine, but there's nowhere to store it, so it may well rot in the fields. Global food shortage is THE #1 pressing issue here, above all others. Pres. Erdogan is working that angle with Pres. Putin, but there hasn't been a WHOLE lot of progress. For this reason ALONE, Russia must lose, & Ukraine must win. Otherwise, we'll ALL starve to death. Slava Ukraine!

2 things jump out here. The official in Donetsk saying, "They'll never forgive us if we make concessions", & the minister in the studio saying, "What will damage Putin is seeing Ukraine slip away.". Conceding to Russia just means that every life lost, military & civilian, Ukrainian & Russian, since 2/24/22 has been in vain. Putin has brain-washed his populace into believing his invasion of Ukraine is merely a "special operation", more like a training exercise than anything else. He's staked his global reputation on being able to successfully assert Russian military power. If Ukraine "slips away", his believability at home, & his reputation on the world stage will be irreparably damaged. And his over-inflated maniacal ego will explode like popping a balloon. If for no other reason than THESE 2, Ukraine needs to win this war. Putin needs to be taken down SEVERAL pegs, & the dead need to be honored, not forgotten. SLAVA UKRAINE!

That 1st Ukrainian cmdr. has a very good grasp of the actual situation on the front lines. So hard to see the seniors suffer so. Work hard all one's life, & in a moment, it's all wrenched away, including loved ones. Hard to start all over again in the autumn of one's life. Russia calls up at least 300,000 conscripts, some of whom are already on the battlefield. Meanwhile, at least 100,000 Russian men have already fled their motherland. Effectively, 1/3 of the new forces are already decimated. The Nordstream pipelines' damage IS most likely due to Russian sabotage. Recall, Nordstream 2 has never been operational, & Russia shut down Nordstream 1 a few wks. ago. The elapsed time period has allowed the bulk of the natural gas to evacuate the pipeline, & Russia determined now is the time to permanently "shut off the tap", (& pollute the Baltic Sea). The Ukrainians may well be correct in their assessment that Vladimir Putin won't deploy tactical nuclear weapons. He has a much more destructive nuke at his disposal - the Zaporizhzhia NPP. No button need be pushed. Only one missile needs to be launched. This order can come at any time, & the whole of Europe & Central Asia will be thrown into nuclear chaos, with the rest of the globe following shortly. Vladimir Putin CANNOT be trusted. SLAVA UKRAINE!

The children of Ukraine, including the ones who've died, ALL have a story to tell. We must HEAR what they tell us, & learn from their words, spoken & unspoken. War is an evil thing, WHEREVER it raises its head, & children suffer the most, carrying the pain & the scars with them as long as they live. It shapes the adults they become, often breeding that much more hate & anger. The grievances fester, until they boil over into yet another conflict. WE are the adults now. WE recognize the cycle for what it is, & WE have the power to stop it. The question is - do WE have the will, or will the next generation of children have to suffer the bitter effects of yet another war? Do any of us REALLY want that for our children & grandchildren? If the answer is "yes", then WE will get what WE deserve, & so will our children.

@happytraveller8953 Hi! My point exactly! Can't remember who said it, but the quote is from someone famous from WW2, & goes something like, "They came for the Jews, but I'm not a Jew, so I did nothing, etc. etc...Now they've come for me, & there is no one left to help me.". I maintain that, if decisive measures are not taken NOW, eventually Germany, France, the UK, & at the end, even the USA, will answer a knock on their door 1 day, & open it to find the Russian bear standing on the doorstep. (By the way, the USA weren't the ONLY ones with their heads up their asses about COVID - people cheated all over the WORLD.). But the situation in Ukraine is alarming on SO many levels, & the atrocities are simply traumatizing to witness. We've got to get past our collective "me 1st" attitude, & bring this to an end. Thanks so much for your comment.

@toadmadhatter Hi! Of course, friend. There are secret diplomatic channels, backroom negotiations, military secrets no one knows about (translation: UFO's), & top secret files & reports (Eyes Only). That's standard, everyday politics. For instance, Ukraine & Russia aren't supposed to really be talking to each other, but the "safe corridors", surrenders like the Azovstal plant's defenders, & the prisoner swaps are being arranged between Ukraine & Russia ONLY. It's up to us to accurately assess the info that's made PUBLIC, & read between the lines. The problems arise when people blindly believe ANYTHING one side says, & disbelieve anything the OTHER side says. The 2 most important things here are to think for oneself, & get that grain out of Ukraine. Thanks for your reply.

@toadmadhatter Hi! I'm sorry, I haven't seen that clip. I'll look for it, though. Was it at this NATO summit, or when? Well, starting trouble for personal gain isn't an exclusively AMERICAN trait. I mean, look what the Taliban's done in Afghanistan. And consider China's little fingers in Iran. And, to be honest, the civil conflict in the Donbas in Ukraine is largely due to Russian agitation. It probably would've settled if Russia hadn't kept stirring the pot. That could also explain the USA's interest in Ukraine. Now, I know when Ukraine gained independence after the collapse of the USSR, they put language in their national Constitution addressing their intent to join NATO. And of course, joint NATO military forces, including the USA, have been going to Ukraine ever since to train the Ukrainian military. For both Russia & NATO, Ukraine would be a tactical gain. But unfortunately, in all these war machinations, the hungry people of the world are being pushed to the back of the line. They're the ones everyone seems to forget about. And if something doesn't give, "THEY" are going to be "WE". Thanks for your suggestion, & your reply.

@WarDogYtPersonal Hi! You're absolutely right, friend. Pres. Putin maintains his power in Russia through fear. Look what he's doing to his own citizens who oppose the war - branding them "traitors & scum", & imposing 15-year prison sentences on some. Thing is, Russia is an extraordinary country, with a rich cultural background. Many great artists, thinkers, scientists, & other contributors to global society have come from Russia. Their history on LEADERS, however, is very shaky. That's what we're seeing here & now, & the Russian & Ukrainian people are paying the price. Thanks for your comment.

@EMCUEAY I can answer you in the same vein with regard to Russian propaganda & disinformation. Clearly, the Ukrainian citizens in Kherson & other towns & areas liberated by Ukrainian military forces are enormously relieved to be free of the fascist neo-Nazi oppression of their Russian occupiers. The hundreds of thousands of Russian troops deployed in Ukraine conduct themselves in a manner almost identical to the SS forces of Nazi Germany in WW2. The Kremlin's propaganda machine portrays Ukrainians as sub-human & advocates their total genocide; the same way the Nazis viewed & treated Jews, gypsies, the homeless, & those with physical or mental disabilities, considering them inferior to the "master race". In Russia, look to the state's violent suppression of any dissenting Russian voices, the band on any media outlets but those parroting state propaganda, the hundreds of thousands of Russian males who fled Russia to escape the recent conscription, & all the "accidents/assassinations" of opposing Russian elite, both at home & abroad. These are all symptoms of an oppressive, dictatorial, fascist Russian government that doesn't give a damn about its own citizens, & even less about the citizens of its neighbor, Ukraine, which it plainly intends to subsume or destroy. Bottom line, there are many more "Nazis" in Russia than there have ever been in Ukraine since the end of WW2.

@ЯнаР-ш1ф Hi! I'm sorry that you've been so misinformed. The people trapped underground in Azovstal DO consist of fit & wounded Azov Battalion soldiers, as well as fit & wounded Ukrainian Marines, & about 1000 Ukrainian civilians, both fit & sick & wounded. The Ukrainian soldiers, up to this point, could easily have slipped through Russian lines in 1's & 2's, & escaped. They are NOT being held & forced to fight. Rather, they've CHOSEN to stay & fight, rather than surrender & be slowly tortured to death by Russian forces. RUSSIA invaded Ukraine, forcing this hideous war on the entire population, in what Russia calls a "de-Nazification". Apparently, they think every man, woman, & child in Ukraine is a Nazi, because Russian troops are slaughtering EVERYBODY. This is not a justifiable war - this is the methodical extermination of an entire people. Thanks for your comment.

@ЯнаР-ш1ф Hi! Point of reference - Kyiv was officially founded in 482 CE, Moscow in 1147 CE. Historically, the region around the Black Sea was settled long before most of northern Europe. Archeological evidence points to permanent human habitation in Ukraine dating back to 25,000 BCE. The Ukrainians have the older claim than the Muscovites. Under Soviet control, Ukraine was simply an arbitrarily designated area of Russia, with populations being moved about as the Kremlin saw fit. There was no concern about whether the people liked it or not. If we're going to assign blame for factions in Ukraine not liking each other, we can trace it right back to Communism. It's not the PEOPLES' fault they were forced together like oil & vinegar. Oh, & Volodymyr Zelenskyy speaks Russian. He also speaks English, as well as other languages, & he's a Jew, born in Ukraine. So, by language & heritage, is he Ukrainian, Russian, British, or Jewish? This attitude is no more than the Kremlin attempting to pound square pegs into round holes, forcing people to be who & what IT decides.they should. Thanks for your reply.

@NotUnymous Hi! Friend, I don't mean to imply that EVERYONE is too self-centered & small-minded to be able to see "the big picture". Those who are, however, just seem to COMPLAIN the loudest. Germany & Italy, being the European nations most dependent on Russian energy, are doing the best they can under the circumstances. Seeking other sources of oil & gas in the short term, & working toward "green" energy for the future - these are really their only options at this point. There's a difference between "cutting back", & "cutting off". The world is being forced to do some serious "soul-searching" by this war, & we're finally having to realize the "status quo" is not sustainable, in many areas. Food & energy security, national security, & dependence on entities that are not really dependable are just a few. No matter what happens, the world ain't gonna be the same again. But now's our chance to make it BETTER, & stopping Russia's vicious imperialism is a good place to start. Thanks for your comment.
