  1. Hamas, with its Oct. 7, 2023 attack on Israel, called this down on the citizens of Gaza it was elected to govern & protect. It surely knew well that Israel would respond with force, & also that there was no way it could defeat Israel militarily. Hamas' handler, Iran, saw that Israel & Saudi Arabia were on the brink of establishing a normalization agreement, & Iran did not want that to happen; therefore, it directed its proxy, Hamas, to start a war with Israel & put a halt to the Israeli/Saudi agreement. State sponsors of terrorism, like Iran, & terrorist organizations like Hamas, care nothing for civilian lives - neither their terrorist targets nor their own people - except for their usefulness as tools to achieve their terrorist goals. Had Hamas, with Iran's support, not attacked Israel on Oct. 7, none of this would be happening. The responsibility for all this death & destruction ultimately lies with them.
