  1. I'm well aware of the risk of starting WW3, but NOW is the time to get some air support to Ukraine, if its allies really want it to defeat Russia. With a supreme commander in charge, he will see the "big picture", & will direct his forces to engage the Ukrainians on every front - not just the Donbas. True, the bulk of Russia's army will attempt to separate the Donbas region; but an intelligent commander won't put all his eggs in 1 basket. He needs to keep Ukraine's defenders trying to cover as much of the country as possible, leaching them away from the major offensive. One way to do that is with rapid aerial attacks on targets far away from Donbas, such as Kyiv, Lviv, & other western objectives, as well as supply convoys transporting new equipment west-east. The Russians realized they were too spread out after their initial offensive; but now they intend to do the same to the Ukrainians, with 1 commander who can see the whole theatre. Air support is CRiTICAL now for Ukraine, but unless something changes, it looks like they won't get it. Pres. Putin has Ukraine & its allies in his grip, & he's squeezing the life out of them, because he can intimidate them with his threats of chemical & nuclear warfare. At THIS rate, EVERYONE will soon be subject to the whims of a madman.

  2. Absolutely agree. Also need air support for heavy equipment moving west-east. Russia can attack convoys just as well as Ukraine. Ground-based anti-air weapons are too slow & difficult to move to be an effective defense for a weapons supply line that must move as quickly as possible. Without air support, Ukraine runs the risk of a good portion of its new equipment being destroyed before it ever reaches the battlefield.
