  1. The anguish of the hostages' families is totally understandable. Not knowing the condition of a missing loved one is nerve-wracking, to say the least. Yet, as with any kidnapping, one is dealing with criminals & terrorists who kidnap for gain. When their demands are met, they're simply encouraged to do the same thing again & again. Hamas negotiates for "prisoner" exchanges, but the hostages are not prisoners. They're kidnap victims. Hamas cannot legitimize that. And, should Hamas' demand for complete Israeli military withdrawal from the Gaza Strip be met, there will surely be more attacks on Israel, & more kidnappings. As with blackmail, the victims just have to keep paying & paying.
