NLP is taking from the community [the effective "community"] of mental health clinicians and capitalizing on the notions therein these methodologies and techniques for the sake of "communicating" the "ends" of profit-seeking entities, businessmen and women, the business class. It's like "New Thought" but flashier. Promotes critical thinking — Only if it's concluded via the axiom that "people are perfect", and so anything that can be learned can be used to promote critical thinking, and then those ends can be used to promote their business strategies. Very Kantian, very correlationist.
