  1. don't drag mythology into this. mythology never hurt anyone, not from ancient Greece. they worshipped hero forms of humans, ie, humans as Gods, ie, they see humans as having archetypal tendencies which are personified, that is to say, they are human attributes considered "God-like", yet are manifest in humans. that's not the same as pretending there are sky-gods. pretty advanced for their time. it's not like the Egyptians or something, whom actually believed in the spiritual world. in Greek mythology, it was not so much that. it was just story-telling, no strings attached.
