Been going on longer than Obama, and the Republicans, even under Trump, will never change this concept that you are to be surveilled, and that people like Snowden or Assange will be treated like traitors by the US government [even if the case is they get pardoned, doesn't mean that the next case will be]. Trump will only continue to engender this notion that America is under attack from 'within' by one group or another, while maintaining the status quo.

They don't need to make such gambits. They literally are in lockstep with their audience...Fox, on the other, has to do a song and dance to try an persuade their audience in the right direction, cause there is so much confusion and literal conflation between 'alt-right' ideas [which are popular now] and progressive / Marxist ideas of, say, the "deep state", and the super rich [being the baby eaters of the world, not just "rich" but the "super ultra impossibly rich"].

They will say: "of course Assange should be pardoned, of course all of this 'globalist leftism' should be stopped!" and thus a choice won't be made within that schematic. It'll just be "sure Assange isn't guilty, but all of the left are guilty, just as well, cause they're commies". They think that all of everyone is "in on it" [the deep state]. WW1WGA doesn't care.

And even though it's the talk of the town, none of this will be engaged in in full. It'll always be something else that 'corrupts' America, first and foremost, because those things you can blame on your political opponents, and not just "the very sum few we all know exist outside of our constituencies outward focus" who are literally as evil as it gets [at least, this is why word from big bird].

Does it mean simply monied interests that sway political means and ends to their advantage, no matter what the cost to society at large? or do they just mean "the left communists that 'took over America' and have [somehow] destroyed the country [worse than Republican action]".
