  1.  Irish Jester  The various clan leaders hijacked UN supplied food, & used as a weapon against warring clans. Hundreds of thousands starved. US & other nations went in to stop that. Once stabilized, troop strength was reduced. US Army had about one Inf BN & various aviation assets serving as quick reaction force. TF Ranger was sent to arrest Aided (not eyedid) & his henchmen / lieutenants. Thats it in a nutshell...leading up to early OCT 1993. (BTW - 2-14 Inf of 10th Mountain Div was conduction raids similar to TF Ranger before they showed up.)
