  2. Graduated from jump school in 1973. Day 1 was the PT test, 6 chin-ups, X pushups, Y situps, etc. Many failed the chin-ups & were sent away, FAR away. No wings for them. I was one of four in a four-man room. By the middle of week 2...I was all alone in the room. Then...lo & behold, about 5 or 6 years later, I started seeing women with jump wings. No way in hell could they do the chin-ups. Hmm I wonders - WTF? Seems they didn't HAVE to meet the standards...all they had to do was HANG FROM THE BAR for a minute or two. How about that? Ain't America great?

  7. Back in the day, every vehicle on DZ had to have engine running AND a driver. And a combat jump ain't gonna have HMMWVs sitting around...

  8. Jumping from helicopters is way cooler...ya just slide offa the side & fall for about 4-5 seconds.

  9. Now it is...they changed the PT standards so the fairer sex could get their little jump wings. No chinups...just hang from the bar for a minute or two.
