Not sure if it counts as 'dropped from the list' here, as arguably they were Argy 'Armada' planes, but Super Etendards sank the dopey, sorry 'Shiny', Sheffield during the Falklands War. Well worth noting our good friends the Froggies have just (2019) sold the Argies a batch of newer uprated Super Etendards.... In fact they did that round about the time the Froggy carrier Charles De Gaul was off the coast of Syria protected by a state of the art RN anti-aircraft destroyer HMS Duncan.

  2. ​ @gordonlawrence1448  Somehow I get a sense you are someone who is often not right but will fight tooth and nail to avoid reviewing their position. Nothing dopey about the Sheffield? Its widely surmised that it was only the threat of poor Public Relations and the risk of awkward questions (like 'whose bright idea was it to put a submariner with bu88erall anti-air experience) in charge of a destroyer being used as an anti-air picket which kept the Captain out of a Court Martial. 'One or two mistakes' - Well, folk can read the reports and make their own minds up. It'll take some time to work through the full list of errors which ended up with twenty dead, at least as many injured and £23m worth or destroyer sunk. As for pretending I must be clueless about aircraft and carrier aircraft because I point out part of the information in this video is inaccurate (vis France has sold Super Etendards to Argentina fairly recently) ............ Its not even logical. Do you wish to argue France has not supplied newer uprated Super Etendards? And are you adding a claim that I offered an affidavit as to the remaining life of the airframes alongside your other mistakes? Everyone else can see I did not.
