@mrtrailesafety They don't love 'em (the F35s, or the F22s for that matter) all that much. They've cancelling all further F22s & have slashed the F35 order. Feb up with tech problems making everything flaky and having realised they can buy three of the new F15 EX models for the price of one F35 ...... Its F15 EXs all the way now. (And you'd still rather be in a Warthog on the floor cos its far more 'alive').

Well DAMN that just ended up costing me money I thought 'What about the Sopwith Dolphin'? Thinking with four machine guns it was intended for ground attack too (It wasn't) But looking for that gave me a link to Cecil Lewis's 'Sagitarius Rising' (book) and it would have been rude to turn that down. But then that linked to the 'restored' DVD of Aces Hgh. And as I saved postage by buying 'The Blue Max' at the same time .......

@EdNashsMilitaryMatters It would be rude not to. History will salute you. (In case it forgets to do that we'll scatter a few kind words in amongst the banter anyway).

Oh yeah, nearly forgot. The reason I thought it was intended primarily for ground attack was they did have an armoured cockpit floor for when they were sent straffing. There's a rather nice one - In fact the only one anywhere at all - in the RAF Museum at Hendon.
