  1. YEAHBUT I'm not sure it'll put the Buffs out to grass. The B1s & the B2s probably because it seems designed to do their jobs better - going into hostile hi capability air space. BUT B-52s do a different job: Very high altitude bomb dumping on folk who lack serious Anti-Aircraft missile systems or providing a distant stand-off air launch missle truck.

You're meaning long production line ! (D'Oh - got there eventually). You could be right too - The C-130 is kind of perfectly adapted for its role & hard to supercede.
