Long story short: Russian Empire saved Finns from Sweden occupation, guarantee their autonomy, saved their language and culture, gave best military education to people like Mannerheim, then Empire collapsed. Autonomous territories got their full freedom, attacked the weak 2 months old socialist republic with the assistance of Germans in 1918, meanwhile killing all russians and red Finns in concentration camps. 1938 allied with Nazis so they could help them get even more land but Molotov pact destroyed their hopes. Meanwhile USSR asked Finland to exchange lands near Leningrad for twice as more in in Karelia. They refused. As the history clearly showed if not for those land Soviets got during 1939 war Leningrad would be exterminated like Nazis planned.

Imagine that after l WW1 where Russia lost 1/4 of its territory and 3 mil of population, civil war where died 17 millions + western occupation, brutal famine in 32-34 (died up to 9 millions) Soviets made the best rocket artillery Katusha, the best middle tank T34 and managed to win the war. Compare this to nowadays. 32 years after USSR collapse, Russia lives in capitalism but it has only Soviet Era weapon. Literally everything either made in USSR or was made using USSR blueprints...

They were victims blablabla, making concentrational camps, killing women and children, participating in the Genocide of Leningrad population. That nazi thug Mannerheim lived a long life when he should had been hanged like other nazi criminals.

  19. Thanks you. Everyone here thinks Finns was victims but in fact they stabbed Soviet Russia in 1918-1920. They saw Russian Empire was no more and paid us for everything good they had by ethics cleansing russian population, their own population which was sympathetic with Soviet ideology. During WW2 they helped nazis killing Leningrad population by starving them to death.
