  1. Objects generally not having a gender is definitely one of the things I like about English. It's definitely confusing when you learn 2 or more languages with gendered objects as they don't always have the same gender as one another and that word that's Feminine in say Latin is Masculine in say German and now you look like a fool for getting them mixed up. About the only exception to objects not having a gender I can think of in English is a ship is feminine. Ship is a she not an it.

  2. Well Anglish is just modern English but breaking out the thesaurus to find the not French or Latin synonym when you come across a word that the most typical word would be French or Latin. Actual Old English was mutually intelligible with Dutch and Frisian which Modern English isn't even if you did the Anglish no French or Latin thing.
