  3. Scharnhorst had 14" armor belt alaska had like 8". Scharnhorst had battleship amount of armor and Alaska had just enough to protect it from conventional 8" treaty heavy cruisers. Scharnhorst could have rejected alaska's guns down to 18k yards and Scharnhorsts guns could have penetrated alaska at 30 k yards

  4. Hood had useful protection against alaska's guns, alaska had no immune zone to hoods guns. It would be a one sided curb stomp.
