@SimonFordman , hey Simon just so you know, the drains on those exhaust manifolds including the risers should have a brass plug which is threaded npt, pipe thread.. so you don't want to mess up those threads by torqueing down regular bolt threads into them..

I disagree... I've run my 350 Magnum V8 inboard outboard on the same type of muffs without any issues. .. the only time I've seen boat mechanics use a barrel filled with water was for testing outboards..

I don't think Simon put that much money into the boat.. he's very thrifty and doesn't spend money unless he has to.. for the most part he works with what he has... Although he could save money by not going to West Marine, because they're pricey.. but probably only went there out of convenience being able to get what he needed right away..

Amazing job Simon.. I think you removed about 100 lbs of mice apartments... And rust.... What was that black stuff oozing out at the end?..

@SimonFordman yeah you can get those at Napa or even the hardware store in the plumbing department. PS.. great job Simon.. I always admire your work ethic and old school engineuity for making do with what you have to get the job done...

@dadgarage7966 a half inch diameter garden hose is large enough, since the internal plumbing on a inboard outboard from the water pump on the lower unit that pumps water to the engine travels through a pipe no larger than a half inch diameter.

It's refreshing to see someone replacing brake pads and hardware the proper way..
