NATO is already involved with the war. They have sent air defence systems to Ukraine - a majority of which along with the original Soviet era ones are now blown to pieces. Of course they could try sending aircraft and I'm sure the Russians would appreciate the experience of using the S400s and S500s to blow them up too. There is a perception problem in Europe. They think they are strong but are weak. That's why they have to use Ukrainian NAZIs to do their fighting for them.

@thomasheldwig7329 I think the issue with this is that they wouldn't win. The Russians have NATO outgunned. Ukraine is their backyard and they could flatten it with conventional weapons in a couple of weeks maximum if they desired.
