@ospehu1 It's an attrition war. Ukraine, even with as much western aid as can be supplied, can't eject the Russians. The Russian military is far stronger than in 2022 not weaker as Lloyd Austin hoped they would be. They are making steady progress through one of the most highly fortified areas in the World and those advances are gaining in speed as the Ukrainian manpower dwindles despite brutal mobilization tactics.

@ospehu1 GDP is a poor indicator of the real economy. It includes all kinds of non productive activities, financial services for example. Also purchasing power parity is a better indicator when comparing countries as it lists in terms of goods in the local currency. The World bank has Russia as number 4 in the World, after China USA and India. When you account for the productive part this favours Russia even more.

@ospehu1 1990s were a deliberate act by the West. Jeffrey Sachs has said he proposed a recovery plan, like a Marshall plan, and the USA government refused to do it. They preferred to plunder Russia, until Putin kicked them out.
