  1. The reporter lies about the meaning of "meat grinder" in this context. The meaning comes from Russian General Suroviken who said he wanted to create the conditions for Ukraine to waste it's personnel pointlessly defending places that Russia had set up as fire traps where their massive superiority of firepower could attrit them using stand off weaponry like artillery and air power. The Ukrainians were the meat being ground for western PR.
