  1. If we send western jets then western pilots will be in them as "contractors". So NATO will be depleting itself of very expensively trained irreplaceable pilots as well as jets. (The same goes for the tanks and all the other complex equipment supplied)

  3.  @timonsolus  Exactly my point. One day RAF next day Ukrainian volunteer with pension plus even more of our money via the Ukrainian government. Meanwhile we have to pay even more to train up the replacement which will also take a number of years.

  4.  @timonsolus  I expect they will do that if they ever do send jets. Same thing will no doubt happen with the tanks. There are reports that the Ukrainians will only be allowed to drive the tanks, not command or operate the gun. There is the small problem of it being illegal to fight for another country but nobody seems to care about that.
