  1.  @eh1702  I think June 4 was the start so that would mean we are entering week 3. This offensive was supposed to be a combined arms Blitzkrieg. A dash to the coast in 4 or 5 days splitting the land bridge, aiming to take Melitopol and providing the basis for an offensive against Crimea later on. It's a good plan but it's failed. I've no idea what they hope to achieve now, just some kind of PR figleaf for the NATO conference in June I suppose.

  12. Sean inverting reality again. The "Meat grinder" plan was hatched between Prigozhin (Wagner head) and Surovikin (former head of Russian forces in Ukraine). This has been well known (to people who seek real news) for six months now. The concept was to lure as many Ukrainian forces as possible to be killed and wounded defending Bakhmut by the use of overwhelming artillery. The Western propaganda people have decided to invert that and have enlisted gossipy Sean (he would be great on loose women) to lie to the public about it.

  21.  @ericspace8816  Not really started yet - bit of a push near Kupyansk. They don't really need to as long as the Ukrainians are doing that in the south if this is a war of attrition. The Uke offensive was supposed to be a Blitzkrieg to the Sea of Asov. When that failed in June, instead of lying and saying they were just probing they should have called it off and gone on the defensive. Perhaps reevaluate what equipment and tactics were inadequate, give their troops some real training. They didn't do that and as a result I would say they are FUBAR.

  23. Ukraine needs to sue for peace. It's possible that one of the Patriot battaries has already been destroyed in Kiev. If Russia decided to really escalate as important people there are urging Ukraine would cease to exist very quickly. And perhaps, if the lunatics in the West get their way, us all shortly after.

  34. The reporter is framing the summit as Russia desperate to break sanctions which is a superficial and ignorant take on a momentous occasion. Putin spoke about inevitable dedollarisation. In other words, the World decoupling from the dollar. This is a disaster for the USA, it's reserve currency status is the only thing keeping it afloat. And any talk of Russia being isolated is an arrogant refusal to face facts.
