Trump Jan 6 Chief of police on the day says Pelosi and her Sargent at arms refused to allow the National Guard to be deployed "for optics". I suspect they were having a joke at his expense as he'd been selected as fall guy, and they wanted the worst violence possible for the TV cameras.
