  2. ​ @robsterkmc  The railway link circa 1909 was actually called the "central artery" along with a plan to electrify lines that are now bike paths. There was also a proposal to place a transit railway in the Route 128 beltway; It got the axe early on as the project was ridiculed as the highway to nowhere ( don't build it too big 'cause there is nothing there and no one will use it). Deja-vu? Besides, we may wish to reconsider the concept of placing a tunnel with lots of holes in it at its deepest points 100 feet below sea level next to the rising ocean. A link exists in mothballs in Worcester. or it could be placed to the West on higher ground in the inner belt corridor with less exotic and costly engineering.
