Mariupol is an old Russian city. Russians have been living on this land for hundreds of years. They do not need to be assimilated, they are Russian anyway. Of course, Russia is doing everything to make up for the loss of housing for local residents, so it builds modern, comfortable houses there. Nobody is waiting for Ukraine in Mariupol.

@RainerMichelle Do you want to convince everyone that the Caucasus and Kuban were once part of Ukraine? Any historian will laugh in your face if you claim this. This map represents the dreams of the UNR delegates at the Paris Congress, and has nothing to do with reality.

@RainerMichelle there was no Ukraine in 1783, and there were no Ukrainians then. There were Little Russians and Rusyns. Look at the map of Europe these years. What you mean by Ukraine is marked on all the maps of Europe as the Russian Empire. And Comrade Stalin annexed Western Ukraine to the Ukrainian SSR. Before that, it was not Ukrainian, but Polish land.

@mindob766 do not lie. There was no Greek city there. These lands were conquered by Russia from the Turks, and the city was founded by the Russians, who have always made up the majority of its population.
