  1. The Ukrainian government does this only for political reasons and to its own detriment. People in Ukraine have been living on Orthodox holidays for 1000 years, so such changes will only strengthen anti-government sentiment. These are hostile actions of the dictatorship towards its own people. Not for the first time.
