Zelensky's problem is that Russian troops are not subordinate to him or the President of France, or the President of the United States. They obey the President of Russia, so if you cannot defeat them in battle, then you will have to negotiate with the President of Russia, and it is simply stupid to demand something. Zelensky is not in that situation to demand anything.

@whitehorses1473 Ukraine is a Russian land, and has historically been part of the Russian state for a thousand years, so the Russians do not steal anything, but take their own.

@steveosborne2297 no, Zelensky, demanding what he is not able to influence, puts forward initially inflated and unreasonable demands. When someone want peace, they don't do it. He even approved a law that forbids him from negotiating with Putin. It is obvious that he is not counting on peace, he is counting on victory over Russia, which is not realistic.
