  1. The main narrative of the Western media is that Russia allegedly committed unprovoked aggression against a sovereign, democratic state. This formulation does not stand up to criticism in any of its constituent parts. 1. Unprovoked aggression. The war was provoked by NATO's plans to accept Ukraine into the alliance, and expansion to Russia's borders, despite promises not to do so. When you see a bully hitting a schoolboy and stand up for him, it's not aggression. Russians were attacked by Ukraine in the Donbas in 2014 and started the war, Russia stood up for the Russian population of Ukraine. 2. Sovereign Ukraine. Ukraine has historically never been sovereign, even after 1991, when it seceded. Ukrainian political elites have been completely bought by Western countries, and have been trading their independence from the very first day. When in 2014 the Western intelligence services organized a coup d'etat and began to directly appoint their puppets, the remnants of the sovereign authority were finally squandered. 3. Democratic Ukraine. It's a joke to the chickens. I don't even want to comment in light of the ban on the media, torture for dissenters, arrests, the ban of the ROC, and other actions that are excluded in a democracy. In general, the Western narrative about a poor Ukraine that has been subjected to aggression is untenable. Kiev's non-independent policy led to the war in favor of the United States, which has plans to use Ukraine as an advanced NATO platform against Russia. Russia, as a global superpower, of course, could not help but respond to these existential risks.
