@abes3925 Right and wrong
The GT500 engine can be used as a truck engine provided they reduce boost and the best part of OHC engine is that its extremely tuner friendly, U want it to rev low but have a short but befy mid range, U can ve that,or U want a low torque high revving wide torque spread power band U can ve that too, 4 cam shafts and timing, they can play a lot with it, twice number of permutations and combinations possible than an OHV motor
Now that said , I feel the best choice for Raptor still would have been a 5.0 twin turbo sequential setup, much better than super charged 5.2.
Now the mpg figures dont matter at all in sports car/SUV/Truck case, that is proven time and time again, When U look at intended purpose, ie sporty off roading, sorry nobody cares about mpg or emissions, thats where Ford failed to understand the market, Ford could ve done the Raptor the GT500 way, ie, give the Raptor a V8 and price it like 100-120k range, no issues, those who are hardcore lovers of V8 would still take it, other wud stick to 3.5 EB, both will be taken care of customers, profits,and the profits could be channeled to fuel the electrification of F 150s too.
