@solomonmendonca3223 nobody knows, not even the best biologists truly understand how that works, it's one of those mysteries of the natural world, like quantum physics . yes we know that it is some kind of 'firmware' embedded to our (the animal's) brains, but we don't really know how it works

It does make sense. Think about it. Day X. Beaver family is living normally, papa and mama beaver + a few young. the young are healthy. Day X+1 Beaver parents get shot. Young are still healthy. Day X+2 (or3) Beaver young make noise and are found by human who takes them to the refuge. They are still in good health.,
