@ukrainiipyat that soviet (russian?) anthem is something else though, I always loved it as somebody from the West. Too bad everything under the surface was so rotten

@surendramumgai631 the USA is not 'the West' Far more people in the West live in Europe and other Western countries, with low jail populations and zero executions. anyway, even if we include the USA, the USSR was a lot worse, sending 17 million people to the gulags

@surendramumgai631 the Russians do NOT HAVE a free capitalist system NOW. They have another form of DICTATORSHIP , Putin style Oligarchy. We are not comparing Soviet Russia with Putin Russia.. We are comparing it with the West and then say the west is better. which it was and still is. Those old soviet babushkas that want the old times back only do so because Putin and his cronies screw them over even more. If they lived in France or Portugal they would NEVER want to go back to soviet times.
