the tragic realisation from that is that we will never visit other galaxies, no matter how advanced we get. they are just too far away in space and time. anybody who thinks humans will ever travel like in scifi movies is delusional.

@murdock6450 I don't know if we are on the same tune, I don't think NASA puts out fake stuff, I just am convinced that space travel outside your own star system is practically impossible, and will remain impossible in the future no matter what.

@Khan0156 what are you babbling about? the speed of light has been measured since the late 17th century , with somewhat accurate results since the late 19th century

If the universe is a large beach of sand , you won't even see more than a few atoms of 1 grain of sand

@thetrueguidance-----3601 oh please, grow up. this is a video about science, not religious fantasies.

@kristopherguilbault5428 National Geographic magazine would publish those pictures, for us non scientists. I read them as a small boy in europe in the 1980s and they had a lot of space stuff

@beslemeto you can fantasize all you want about fast travel but that won't change the laws of nature

@tedkaczynskiamericanhero3916 dream on, my friend, dream on

@Khan0156 if you watched that video you should have picked up that it doesn'' t matter, all of physics remains the same if the speed of light is different in two directions, it's a literal quote by that dude that made the video (see his mars clock example)

@mrcheese5383 I don;t believe that quantum attributes of elementary particle will ever translate into a human scale device that affects space / time. Quantum effects can be used on our scale , but for other things, like computers... There the actual effects stays in the micro realm and we just use the result at our scale.

@gaiacity4211 blame Putin
2
@koiyujo1543 far less.. maybe 0.5% or 0.05% most of it is beyond the observable universe anyway, meaning, the speed of light is not fast enough to reach us in the time the universe existed.

@t-rod4456 But I can say it for sure, we discovered enough about the physical reality to make certain claims. Just compare the science of physics today with that of the days of Einstein, Planck, Heisenberg and Bohr. You will learn that any improvement we have made is just some rummaging around in the margin. despite our quadriullion bazillion teraflops in computing power
1
@t-rod4456 none of that matters in the context of intergalactic space travel, but keep dreaming if that entertains you.
1
@scottg6754 Yes, I agree we are not at the end, but the point I am trying to make is that NONE of the future improvements of our understanding of physics will lead to intergalatic travel. We are creatures made out of molecules, quantum effects of subatomic particles won't help us move faster.

most scientists are actually agnostic atheists.... because they realize all religious and other mystical stories are just petty nonsense
1
@CL-hf2fb most of us here came from the 20th century......... it's pretty common to experience 2 centuries for a human being. I recommend trying out the music, if you weren't around then.....

@mathsfornineyearolds 'inumerate' is not a word. what were you trying to say?

40 lightyears! that's right AROUND THE CORNER.. We could get there in the year 2525
