  1.  @willvilabcn  I was a warlock and never made it past rank 7 or 8, with the 'casual style' you describe rank 10 was out of the question, but this of course might differ from server to server.

  2. you would lose it, but you can buy the rewards and keep using those. So let's say you make rank 12, you buy the gear from rank 12 and stop playing for a month. when you come back you will have lost 4 times (4 weeks) of 20% and end up being rank 7. but you can still use your rank 12 gear

  6. you are right that PVE guilds would rule the bgs, but a good PVP guild full of people above rank 8 wasa good match for them, in fact the best battles were clashes between hardcore pvp guild and a pve guild.
