Songs like this one made me fall in love with Queen, they had ' normal' rock songs (of outstanding quality) but on top of that they had these kind of brilliant 'silly' songs no other band IN THE WORLD could pull off and that made them into a league of their own, above all other bands, Absolute top class A++ geniuses.

  2. Behind the scenes they argued a lot about which songs should get onto each album, but yes, once the decision was final they all gave it a 100%, that was one of their major strengths.

  3. I like many songs by those bands, but I can;t even name 10 good songs by led zeppelin, yet I know 50 good queen songs. I also love some pink floyd songs, but only maybe 20% of them. I really think queen is better overal. And I am not a fanboy, I haven;t listened much to them in the past 10 years but whenever I revisit them I am very impressed by the around quality.

  4. indeed, they made about 150 songs, and at least 100 of them are of outstanding quality, this makes it very easy for a very good song to slip under the radar

  12. I really think the period in time between around 1960 and 1990 was the pinnacle of humankind. Once we got the internet culture went downhill . (saying this as big IT nerd) Don;t ask me why I get this thought while listening to a Queen song :D

  16. I prefer at least 10 other Queen songs over BR, but I don;t hate it. It's ok, but it just doesn't have that wow factor that many other queen songs give me.

  20. +Fastskull. that doesn't matter. I am 42 and I have not the slightest idea who Logan Paul is and I don't need to know. Teenagers watch 50 youtube videos a day , while the older generations watch none, or maybe 5 a week. My parents are 70 , they don't even watch 5 a year, they still put in a CD when they want to listen to music.

  27.  @vidmantasb5993  The Beatles were cute and made some good songs, but not as many as these four lads. And they weren't as versatile. They also quit too soon. Had they continued for another 10 years they might have become the greatest but now I must give that title to others, Queen among them.

  32. I would have sworn that Keep Yourself Alive was a song from the Smile days of May, Taylor and Tim Staffel but it's not according to wikipedia. I have a book from the 1990s that made this claim, but it's a bit of pulp journalism so not very reliable I guess.

It appeals to emotion, because there are no rational arguments for any dogmatic religion, like islam or christianity. In our modern world we have better answers for our moral and scientific and philosophic questions, so most healthy and happy people are or become secular in developed countries. But a drug addict, when he is at his lowest point in life, he is a perfect candidate for religion. Nothing to lose and eternity to win.
