EU citizen here. Just wanted to say that brexit might be a failure, this channel is a raving success! you are getting very good at these daily talks
81
sadly we have plenty of EU citizens that are just as capable as Britons at behaving badly
21
@bluejeans5125 those refined people never existed as a nation, it's just that 50 years ago only the rich could travel abroad and they would behave a bit better in public. (note they weren't 'better' people morally, they could be evil and nasty, but they behaved better than modern tourists )
21
the big tragedy of democracies is that stupid people have just the same amount of votes as smart people. But you cannot change that, or it would be unfair or turn into a dictatorship again. The only hope is education, education education
19
I am from the Netherlands, and I would like the Uk to rejoin, it will be the best result long term for Europe. But I do hope they change a lot internally before they rejoin
11
I never used Twitter and never saw any reason to do. I still won't use it but you are the first person who could explain it's value to me. And convinced me that it really has that value.
8
@Demun1649 lol A) I am Dutch. B) If I had voting rights in the UK I would probably vote the Green Party. the Tory party would be right at the bottom of my choice list, unless there are fringe parties that are even worse, (Farange party?) then it would be right above those
7
@manoo422 you are 5 years late... those EU populist parties have indeed grown, but they have shaken off their exit vibes now that the voter has seen the endless tragicomedy going on at the Thames
7
@pieterpopster5549 yeah, it's basically a cult now
6
never vote for a tory
6
yes, having been in the USA I can't see how any sane person can prefer that over the EU , despite higher wages. Everything of quality is also way more expensive in the USA and the cheap stuff is low quality. Add the toxic political climate, bad infrastructure, ugly cities and tons of other cultural disadvantages and I wouldn't go there if they tripled my salary
4
@timelwell7002 Make Olde Albion Relevant (Again?)
4
@irminschembri8263 typo.. it's Sushi Runak 🤪
4
Impossible to enforce, the LIAR can always claim they were so stupid they really believed it.
4
It's been a while, I have to reread that novel, it's one of my favourites of all time.
4
he is only 61, and I can easily see you rejoin within 25 years

The electric car was invented 120 years ago. It always failed. Making electric cars a viable option is an accomplishment, it doesn't matter that others have invented the actual tech. He certainly played a role in that. But yeah, he has been a complete doofus in the last 10 years
3
@ArDeeMee these days many people use plastic trees, which look quite like the real thing if you get a quality one. But yeah, it doesn't have a real purpose, but it used to be a fun event if you have young kids, to set it up, make decorations and quibble about which ball goes on this branch. I think it;s a nice family activity.
3
your problem that you never really got a good revolution, in past centuries, the one with chopping blocks...
3
are they any British car manufacturers left to pick clean? I thought they had finished that 2 decades ago.....
3
@gbormann71 yes, that is because factories can't just all change in 1 day, so when they knew the law would start on July 1 they began changing the production lines, months in advance. maybe even in 2023
3
@EthanKristopherHartley what does that mean? (I am from EU, not UK, genuine question)
3
@EthanKristopherHartley yeah ty, I was asking the question before I reached that part
3
@ldorman I said 'he played a role in it' , not 'he invented it or he build the company himself' Being a public relations front man might be all he ever was, but that was also an important job in a world that never really believed in electric cars before Tesla. His talent was convincing 3rd parties that this time it was different and it could really work
2
@alisonwilson9749 I am a teacher myself, in my forties. Both the old system of the boomers and WW2 generation and the new methods of the gen Z have strong and weak points. I wouldn't say one is outright better, I think it's just that older people become more conservative by nature, they have more fears
2
@georgeatkinson759 a knockoff brand won;t taste the same. I also still buy original worcester sauce
2
my 6 year old niece can tear them off with her bare hands. it's not a steel chain lock
2
@jimbob-robob we are still naked apes, with a thin layer of civilization on top , millions of years of evolution (follow the loudest screaming alpha male and everything will be alright) is hard to shrug off for most humans , unfortunately
2
@Demun1649 only scandinavians and the dutch are known for decent english , the rest are mediocre or quite bad in general (with a few exceptions.)
2
@Demun1649 that being said, youtube comments are notoriously bad as a platform, many linguistic mistakes are to be blamed on the crappy user interface of youtube , especially on mobile devices. it's just too much work to correct them sometimes
2
@Demun1649 What are you rambling about? I answered more questions than anybody in this comment section. Speak clearly
2
@ianworley8169 what are you ranting about? I never said anything about the Brits, just that europeans outside scandinavia (and a handful of other places) are usually not that good at English. and why would they, their culture is in Italian, or spanish or german. english is just a 2nd language for them, maybe the most important second language, but still 2nd
2
the better question is, why would more than 10% of the population ever vote for them again
2
@ecaeas4439 Let's rephrase it then. We don;t want you back before the PEOPLE of Great Britain, out of their OWN FREE WILL have CHOSEN for a more democratic election system (aka not a winner takes all system) and also they have culled their toxic media landscape
2
@francesconicoletti2547 every match handcrafted and checked by Santa's finest Elves
2
@suedavenport8208 HOW MUCH did you spend on that turnip, Baldrick?
2
same in Dutch
2
didn't you listen to the episode? the jails are full! :D
2
I assume you have a work visum or other document that allows you to stay in Sweden. Why is that so hard for the Danish or German border guards to understand?
2
Pitchforks and guillotines, that's what your country needs
2
I am visiting Brugge in two days, any tips ? (apart from the obligatory old city center)
1
@brianferguson7840 but those brainless zombies were duped by tax evader elites, who brainwashed them with gut feeling propaganda
1
@BadByte I think they are developing more and more procedures to work around that. The funny thing is, that if some rogue member like doesn't like it the rest of the EU can just say: ' oh you are free to leave the club, goodbye!' (secretly thinking: sod off dickhead!) but he won;t do that because of the sweet €U €€ his corrupt party is founded on.
1
@timonsolus it all went wrong when women (and Baldrick) got to vote /s
1
@timonsolus duh! it was a joke btw I am a man and I would vote labour or green party if I lived in the UK . And I know plenty of women who vote for populists
1
@timonsolus in dire times comedians thrive. The UK and US have plenty of talented joke makers
1
@HedwigHeeren Het zou me niet verbazen als ze in een jaar of 20 weer terug zijn, en dan kun je nog wel in leven zijn.
1
@HedwigHeeren ok for the record, 2036 Bre-entry :D #Remindmein12years
1
It will take 20 years of decline before the newer EU members have caught up, so I don't think that will be a major issue anytime soon. let's not pretend they are a new Bulgaria, that is just silly. they just fall behind to other frontrunners like Germany, Netherlands, Denmark etc
1
€5,49 here for 250g.. That was indeed about €2 more than i expected... (haven't bought it in years) I used to be €2 something
