At the end of the day, whether a man lived that was a bit insane and managed to wrangle some disciples is about as relevant as the work of Marshall Applewhite. Though I still doubt it's likely, I guess it's at least plausible that such a man lived. However, the virgin-born god's son nonsense is absolute rubbish. It has no more realism behind it than Atlas or Medusa. That a story finds legs and continues to be embellished through time, many embellishments we see happening in our own lifetime, obviously has no relationship to reality. Interesting, though, that with all mentioned in the video, it is an astonishing small amount of circumstantial evidence.
2
That's just the point. People turn to ANYTHING when they're at their absolute worst. Religions prey upon it.
2
Yeah, I didn't hear any "hard" evidence. A lot of circumstantial stuff, but no slam dunks.
2
To be fair, this wasn't about whether or not he was the son of god, it was merely did a man live at that time that could've been the preacher, Jesus. That's it.
1
They should make a movie about him.
1
That's damn near all of it.
1
He will see an ICE agent throwing his butt on an airplane to El Salvador.

@вся_империя You don't need to prove a negative. It's nobody's job to disprove it. It's YOUR job to prove it, and you cannot. There is no evidence of the supernatural, period. You've been sold a story from infancy, probably, and surrounded by propagating mouthpieces that just repeat the same old tired tales over and over and over. Nothing new, no confirmation, no more voice of god, no more burning bushes, no more sun standing still. Nothing. You have a book of wild and fantastic tales that doesn't even comprehend photosynthesis or that the planet did not have corners or set upon pillars. Grow up, man.
1
Wow! Centuries old?! That means absolutely nothing. He looked more like Richard Ayoade than any Russian art you've likely never seen.
1
Yes, we know, Yeshua and all that.
1
@druidriley3163 Agreed. If anything, the endurance is merely evidence of it being a successful tool for controlling the masses. The church didn't even allow people to own their own bibles for centuries so that the narrative could be controlled.
1
Does that work? It doesn't work for me.
1
You need to look up Kat Kerr and enjoy yourself. :)

@alexkoelle9513 Evolution does not promote "from nothing". Only creationists say that. There was never nothing.
1
@alexkoelle9513 To form a universe, sure. That does not mean that there was merely nothing pre-universe. Just energy and matter in a different state. Energy and matter were already there.
1
@alexkoelle9513 True, yet more evidence pointing that direction than the "god of the gaps" method. There is ZERO evidence for creation. None. That organisms are complex, yet flawed like crazy, is not evidence of creation or even grand design. Sometimes it's okay for the answer to be "I don't know", whilst still ruling out the more ridiculous of the proposed options, one being magic man make me.
1
Well, except that there is no "J" in Hebrew. Other than that...
1
I've literally seen hundreds of them with my own eyes.
1
There are a lot of the scenarios tied to Jesus that were borrowed from even earlier "deities". There really isn't much originality to him. Seriously, be nice to people was one of his biggest hits. I'm positive that society was already way ahead on that one.
1
No, but if you'd watched the video, you'd have heard of Herod.
1
Ugh. I'm not reading that.
1
😆 That was beautiful.
1
@вся_империя Huh? You mean how to slaughter children and innocents? How to commit genocide on the ENTIRE planet, including unborn infants and newborns only to have the same corruption be back in play in less than three generations? THAT kind of morality? Cursing an entire species for the mistake of two people? Shall we come after your great great grandchildren for your mistakes? Taught us morals. Get outta here.
1
I still will give it "probable" and leave it at that. I've no issue that a wild preacher man roamed the Middle East. Son of god? Hell no.
1
He was PMSing on most days.
1
@kalez963 You said bash. 😆
1
Stay tuned. I read recently about one that actually rewrote the code it was given to shut it down. This is going to get really weird.
1
I only recently heard that whole suicide pact thing as well.
1
End time horrors have been present every year for 2000 years. They're all so vague and common that every generation can convince themselves that it is NOW. It's just par for the course.
1
Did you murder your English teacher on the first day of school?
1
@H4CKP4CK Nah. They've made themselves powerful and relevant, but important? They're far too destructive for that.
1
Don't look down, but your cognitive dissonance is showing.
