  1. The main reason people leave is because they have no choice if they want to succeed. Take Australia for example - the bulk of the population are on welfare and love increasing taxes of those who earn because it means more money for those on welfare. Its effectively vote buying as the welfare payments always increase a few months before elections. Then considering these people are receiving without providing anything, they feel its ok to take even more and they support any politician and party who will take more and give more to them. There literally is no way to change anything as its rapidly spiraling downwards with no end in sight. Also, with the two-party-preferred, preferential voting system and the bulk of minor parties being off-shoots of the Labor party, its literally not possible to vote anyone else in (other than one of the big two - Labor or Liberal) and since both major parties have become the same politically (in order to get elected) there isn't really any choice. You vote so your name gets marked off and you don't receive a fine, not because it changes anything. Thus the only option is to leave and hope it all comes crashing down one day when all the money runs out and they have no choice but to reduce taxes and to reduce over regulation to the point that business and success become possible once again. At this point in time, Australia is great for a holiday but not to live or work in and not to run a business in.
