Just use the following rule and you'll always be fine: If you are entering or exiting a country for which you have a passport (issued by that country) you must use it. You can't be a tourist (at the border) of a country you are a citizen of. Here's an example for a person with a passport from both a CUNA and EU (within Schengen Zone) country: To Exit CUNA Country: Use CUNA passport To Enter Europe (within Schengen Zone): Use EU (Schengen) passport To Leave Europe (within Schengen Zone): Use EU (Schengen) passport To Enter CUNA Country: Use CUNA passport If however you're traveling to a country to which you're not a citizen of (and don't have freedom of movement such as Schengen), then use the passport that gives you the most freedom - some countries get more visa-free tourism time than others. Remember its always better to be visa-free as a tourist than visa-on-arrival as they don't have to grant a visa-on-arrival.
