That's why you have multiple citizenships. When one becomes untenable you renounce it. If the country won't let you renounce or if you're scared that going to their embassy or consulate will result in you being arrested and deported/repartiated, then remain where you are (should be a country you're a citizen of) and let the fact that you're in a country of citizenship be what helps prevent you from being extradited. When you're in any country that you're a citizen of, you are considered as being only their citizen and can only use their documents to identify yourself - this means that you're a lot less likely to be forcibly taken to another country that you're a citizen of; it also means that if the country you're in bans you from leaving - you're stuffed as no other country can help you. Its all about determining the risk thresholds that you're concerned about and making well informed decisions based on as much information as you can obtain and consider.

Unfortunately it won't help you. Citizenship can be by naturalization or by descent and there are strict criteria that need to be met. There aren't any citizenships based on DNA tests.

@jaws2003 Please list them then... I haven't seen any country permitting citizenship based on DNA. All DNA can prove is whether your someones child - that only verifies your right to citizenship by descent, not citizenship by DNA. It doesn't grant you citizenship due to your DNA, you were born into the citizenship. When we say you can't get citizenship by DNA we mean that you can't apply based on DNA showing you're from that countries land / people when your family aren't citizens.

@ph.m.8091 depends on the country imposing and the country you're in at that point. Also, most places would be required to let you renounce if they introduced citizenship based taxation after you've left their tax system as once your out of the system your tax file would be closed and I doubt you'd start a new one. It's the old, get out whilst you can and if you're scared of citizenship based taxation, renounce that citizenship once you have other suitable one's.

@DarkSolidity Literally would never happen. You will only be drafted if you're living in a country of citizenship, then only that country will draft you. Do be aware that if you have multiple citizenships, you're required under international law to not be involved in a war that is against any of those countries - you have to be neutral and not fighting.
1
@DarkSolidity Nope - if they formally draft you then you have a huge mess to sort out. If you don't live in the country and thus haven't been assessed, they won't draft you.

@DarkSolidity Its different to what you said as you'd have never been assessed for draft which puts you on their list. Literally not draft dodging. Most countries exempt those who live abroad from national service and draft. This is why the law exists that prohibits you from being involved in any war between countries which your a citizen of (where you have more than one citizenship) where they're fighting against each other. Why would it be different if they start drafting people? They know you don't live in the country and as long as you're not there, you won't be drafted.
