  1. Just be careful that wherever you live doesn't tax capital gains that are unrealized. Many "name-brand" countries do this - its always the ones that have "deeming laws" that love taxing "unrealized" gains. They do this by deeming the value of the asset to be higher than it actually is (i.e. they're looking at and deeming it to be what it could be worth) and then demanding people pay tax on the unrealized gains. Australia loves doing this.
