@GeoffBuysCars No conspiracy at all about National Parks - they're actually a UN driven tyranny. In Australia, National Parks used to be about protecting environment from urban development, since 1992 they've been nothing but a way to lock up public land "to protect it for future generations" because its "critically endangered habitat home to rare and endangered [ants, snails, whatever BS you want]". The catch is that any National Park created since 1992 is actually regulated, owned and controlled by the UN. This is why at the main entry to Victoria's Alpine National Park and Yarra Ranges National Park there are signs going on about the UN and listing the flags of the UN World Heritage Area member states - one of which is Japan. I mention Japan as they are the reason that once a National Park, State Park or Forest Park is created, the land use is 100% locked up (pre-1992 parks rules are grandfathered in though) and impossible to change as Japan always rejects any change to a National Park, including permitted activities and they always reject anyone trying to convert a National Park back to State Forest. This is possible because all member states must unanimously agree to any and all changes to National Parks. Oh and they also have a new method as too many people now know of how they control National Parks - they declare land to be a "Heritage Area" or put it under native title. Both of these new methods have the same effect of turning land into a National Park - it's locked up and no one can do anything at all.
