  1. It sounds very similar to the several cases of "stuck on cruise control" that happened in Australia a few years ago. The first few times the drivers were arrested and labelled as liars. Only when they worked together to try to replicate the problem on a closed track with engineers and hardware hackers did they finally determine the existence of an intermittent fault in one case and in another case, a certain very specific order of events that caused a bit flip in one bad part of a RAM chip. None of the "stuck on cruise control" cases in Australia had any onboard logs showing the cruise control being stuck "on" in the vehicles onboard systems and controllers when checked by law enforcement. Not taking any sides but there's nothing to say it isn't an intermittent fault or the result of a bad part of a RAM chip causing a bit flip. Could just be the one bad unit that was missed in QC. Could also be a result of a spark or a solder error on a BGA chip that could be potentially missed in QC if things were being rushed.
