  2.  @Biosynchro  Bullshit - that may happen rarely but its less than 1% of cases and thus its statistically insignificant (i.e. its <5%) and doesn't justify such tyranny. The rights of the individual and the right to privacy is more important than any "collective". The reality is that the surveillance state only exists to control and monitor everyone so that the state may punish everyone over the slightest thing. 99% of cases involving cameras (of all types) revolve around going after people over the most insignificant "paper" crimes. The mere fact that you think cameras are good means that any of the following describe you: * You have zero sense or clue of reality * You think that power is never abused * You think that everyone should be charged for the most minor things * You think that everyone is guilty * You think that you'll never break any law, no matter how insignificant, no matter whether or not you've heard about it or not * You think that future regimes won't use the cameras to exert their tyranny and to go after their political opponents * You live in places like China were cameras dictate the lives of everyone * You're a commie / soviet who thinks they'll be a key party member leading the world when you take over (newsflash you won't be) You and your family have never suffered under actual tyrannical regimes, hence why you're so happy to actively enable such regimes to have maximum control. The fact is that there's zero legitimate public purpose for mass surveillance. You want to stop crime, then get more cops on the ground patrolling and enforcing the laws that already exist.
