Why do they have more influence than anyone else? Because they know the right people. People listen to their friends and that in turn influences policy, laws, investments, etc. Duh! That's why they send their kids to the 'right' schools - so they can get a real education (unlike the useless public education) and so they can become friends with the 'right' people. Even for the poor, knowing the right people is the difference between getting the job and not getting the job. As for more automation - that's thanks to over regulation, bureaucracy, govts letting employees demand the world and due to higher taxes. If costs or taxes go up, jobs reduce. Its basic business - the business has to make a profit and in most of the world, the govt requires 'for profit' businesses to make at least $1 more than the previous year, otherwise its considered 'intentionally running a company at a loss' which is illegal.

@thomasf.9869 Tell me then genius, how does one move abroad if they have to renounce their citizenship. Moving to other countries usually requires a visa. Very few countries just let people naturalize. Its illegal to be stateless and you can't have a visa if you're stateless. So your own suggestion is impossible. Also, why should a person (assuming they're born with multiple citizenships) have to give up their citizenships that they were born with? If countries had attractive tax policies and minimal bureaucracy, and didn't waste money, plenty of people would stay and run businesses.

Ease up on the copium there... elite schools give them a great head start as they become friends with all the right people, when it comes to getting jobs or doing business, they know the right people, or their friend does. Even for the average poor person, knowing the right people is the difference between getting the job or not getting the job. Also, they get a proper education that covers everything about business, finances, wealth, investment, etc. That education paired with their qualifications in serious fields such as engineering, medicine, law, finance, etc. sets them up for success. The public system avoids teaching these things (or brushes over them without any real depth) as its designed to create 'good worker drones', not successful people. Lastly, you also fail to underestimate just how cold, brutal and barbaric the 'elites' can be, even to each other. You forget many are sociopathic, narcissistic bullies who are used to getting their way. Things look pristine and 'perfect/soft' because to them, appearances are important, only through being among such people can you find the truth.

So they move their money to another country and the bank can't give out as many loans or invest in the country. Brilliant idea. Oh - hate to break it to you but ALL income is taxed the same - its all considered PIT so they already are paying well over 30%PIT which is why many are leaving.

The threshold is lower in AU & NZ - about $180k (which doesn't go far in AU & NZ). Not to mention AU & NZ have far more levies (a different type of tax) than the UK so actual taxation is closer to 70% in reality.

@saltymonke3682 You think you can choose the best product? Keep dreaming. You don't really have choice unless you're mega rich. Products might visually look different but they're 99% from the same production line, just a difference colour, housing and branding. The 'best' products aren't affordable to the 'common people'. Literally 2 companies make all the power tools, and 4 companies produce all the food - I'm talking about who owns what at the top level, as they determine the quality of products. Also, since the 3.5yr long plandemic, most choice is gone as there's only one brand of each product on the shelf where there used to be differently branded ones - this is common in much of CANZUK & CUNA.

@robertsteele474 What's the point? The 3rd world and AI are already taking those coding jobs. In the 'west' there's no money in anything as everything is moving to the 3rd world. The 1st world is about to become the 3rd world - its a global inversion.
