Every time someone tells me they saw "some beautiful meteors last night" I tell them they were actually watching someone else's burning garbage being dumped on them.

In the first chapter of Charney's book he describes how Michelangelo would create "Greek" statues and have them buried and distressed and then sold through dealers as antiquities to wealthy Italian families in the 15th century.

I've always liked taking risks and have been accused of being egotistical, but I am also respectful of women and others and can control my violent urges. The problem is insecure men and poor parenting - not their testosterone.

AI will be exactly like all our technologies - looked back at from the future with a mixture of sadness, pride and outrage.

Tombs that became shrines to the ancestors who connected the world of the living to the world of the dead.

For my entire life I have been uneasy looking at sacred objects from around the world displayed in glass museum cases. I feel I am violating some deep privacy and have no legitimate right to do so.

If you read Yuval Harari he talks about how the Agricultural Revolution was really the beginning of the end in terms of our place in the biome. We then began using abstract concepts and "intersubjective myths" that resulted in dramatic changes to our planet, and it has never stopped. The other factor is the rise of humanism that places humans above all other life forms and the environment. When we served the gods, we made sure they were tended to and respected, and the environment we depended on was sustained. Ironically, our movement away from supernatural belief systems is directly linked to destruction of the planet. Take a look at a pig or chicken factory farm and you will see where we are today visavis our fellow earth creatures.

If you read The Art of Forgery by Noah Charney you will learn that people have to want to be fooled and then be willing to go to great lengths to hide their own complicity.

"Developed" nations simply export their environmental impacts. Consumers buy more than products, they buy willful ignorance that protects them from comprehending their own impacts to the planet. Visit a factory farm and try to convince yourself it is not a profound crime against life.

Why has trump abandoned America's European allies to Putin and the racist mobs?

I like how the recent re-patriation of the phony Alexander Bust as "looted art" to the Greeks is just another way to launder the provenance. LOL!!! These people just can't help themselves!

We already have AI doctors - they are simple rubrics that we fill out in the waiting room or online.

Read the book The Art of Forgery by Noah Charney. The claims of authenticity of these fakes are tied to the reputations of connoisseurs, art historians and dealers so the truth is very hard reach because careers can be destroyed. In addition, the owners don't want to suffer the embarrassment among their wealthy friends that they were duped. These is are crimes of cooperation that many museums and dealers refuse to acknowledge.
