  3. I like how the recent re-patriation of the phony Alexander Bust as "looted art" to the Greeks is just another way to launder the provenance. LOL!!! These people just can't help themselves!

The claims of authenticity of these fakes are tied to the reputations of connoisseurs, art historians and dealers so the truth is very hard reach because careers can be destroyed. In addition, the owners don't want to suffer the embarrassment among their wealthy friends that they were duped. These is are crimes of cooperation that many museums and dealers refuse to acknowledge.
