  2. I am familiar with the genesis of the crack cocaine laws but I still think the disparities in sentencing and race for crack cocaine reflected racism. Mainly that the larger society didn't seem to be bothered by them, ie "who cares, it's just a bunch of black dudes". Biden at a minimum.

  4. I've found that people politically right tend to prioritize practicality in their conceptions of government. Even the extremists like fascists actually believe that ethno-nationalism is best because it works. Leftists on the other hand, are far more theoretical. Partly because they are emotion driven and partly because most places where people have the freedom and spare time to ponder political science are so far away from socialism that all they can do is aim for the moon. For instance, as progressive ideas like bail reform become reality, they shift to more radical ideas like abolishing prisons. Hence, as the realities of Columbus were acknowledged in the history books, leftists were forced to reimagine him as histories greatest monster.
